We are the Best Shop in Fenton

The 1st ever high street awards by Jack Brereton MP for Stoke on Trent South took place this year and our shop, The Flower Fountain, amongst others were in the running to try and win the high street award.

Giving Something Back

Jack Brereton set up the awards to give something back to small businesses who work hard to keep the high street alive with little recognition.  The awards, the first of their kind, in Stoke on Trent was well received by residents and businesses alike to bring support for local businesses who are at the heart of local communities.

I wanted to give back some recognition of the hard work put in by all the people running small businesses in our towns. Our high streets are unique, and the fantastic number of entries in the competition demonstrates how valued these are to our communities.

Whilst working in our beautiful flower & gift shop on King Street, Stoke on Trent, what we initially thought was a customer walking into our shop, when we looked around it was jack Brereton MP and a photographer! We greeted him like we would any other customer and he informed us that from the votes of local customers in the Stoke on Trent area, we had won ‘The Best Shop in Fenton’ category from his High Street Awards!

As you could imagine we were over the moon! He presented us with our award and his photographer took photos, whilst we were still pretty gobsmacked! The award proudly sits on our wall in the shop and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us who made this possible.

We didn’t win the overall high street awards, but there is always next year! Be ready 2020 awards, we are coming for you!!
