Where The Flower Fountain Started!
Hi, I’m Rhiann, Head Florist and Partner of the Flower Fountain. My story all started with a little girls dream, watching and helping my Grandma, who loved her garden, tending to the many plants and flowers with such love, care and affection. Being such a big influence in my life growing up she gave me the love for flowers that I have today.
I had decided then that it was the career path I wanted to follow! On leaving school, I had been trained in a top horticultural college and working in florist shops whilst I passed my courses. With over 25 years in the trade, completing countless weddings, funerals, bouquets and arrangements with customers following me from shop to shop because of my style and quality of work. I was now a brand, no matter where I worked the customers followed.
My dream grew. I wanted to own my own shop and for as long as I can remember it was always going to be called ‘The Flower Fountain’. That dream grew closer to reality when I met my Fiance and now business partner, Mark.
After moving from my hometown of Wrexham to Stoke on Trent to be with Mark, we formulated a plan and researched the local area and found the requirement for a quality but affordable florist in the area. We were all set to buy our shop. Broughs Florists in Longton! After years of it being run down by the current owners due to ill health, it was ideal! Unfortunately, due to the financial crisis of 2007, we decided to pull out as it wasn’t the right time. Sadly, without a buyer, Broughs Florists closed a few months later 🙁
After a few more years of planning and waiting the time became right whilst building the business from home. A shop on King Street Fenton became available. From seeing the shop to agreeing on a contract with the landlord was just 2 days! The Flower Fountain has a shop!
From that point, month on month, year on year we continue to grow. with continuous re-investment and aggressive marketing, we strive to become the best and provide the best quality flowers at affordable prices and helping to create many happy smiles for our customers in both happy and sad times.
Who We are
We are florists. But florists with a passion for providing affordable quality designs to suit all pockets!
We don’t sell air. Many florists across the country fill out bouquets with air, essentially spreading out the flower content to make your bouquet look big and generally charging a big price for the privilege with very little flower content. When a bouquet is removed from its package and placed in the recipient’s vase you see just how little floral content there is for your money!
Here at The Flower Fountain, we believe in providing our customers with ‘content to value’. Which means we won’t fill out our bouquets with ‘air’ with minimal flower content for maximum profit. We believe that our customers deserve the best quality flowers at a reasonable price. So when you order with us you’re guaranteed just that….quality content to value. We won’t fill out your £40 bouquet with air with a real sale value of more like £30, We make it to £40.
